Hi, I'm Bianca Di Mascio, the founder of Little Locks of Hope. My journey to creating this charity has been shaped by a lifelong passion for hair, a dedication to craftsmanship, and a deep desire to help others—especially children.
As a multi-award-winning hair extensionist, I've spent years perfecting my skills in hair artistry. From winning prestigious awards three times over to becoming an educator, I've had the privilege of training and mentoring others to build their own successful careers in the hair industry. Beyond that, my expertise extends into a more unique field—horse mane, tail, and forelock reconstruction, where I've worked with precision and care to restore the beauty of equine hair.
Over time, my career evolved, leading me to a deeply fulfilling role as a private NHS wig maker for Medway Hospital in Kent. Here, I saw firsthand the impact that hair loss can have on individuals—especially children. It was in these moments that I realized my true calling: to use my skills to provide high-quality, natural wigs for children who need them most.
The reality is, many families struggling financially simply cannot afford a high-quality human hair wig. The cost can be overwhelming, yet the emotional impact of hair loss on a child is immeasurable. I knew there had to be a way to bridge this gap.
That's why I founded Little Locks of Hope—a place where donated hair is lovingly transformed into beautiful wigs for children in need. Instead of letting good hair go to waste, we repurpose it to give children back their confidence, their joy, and a sense of normalcy.
With my extensive knowledge of human hair, including sourcing the purest, most organic hair from around the world, I ensure that every wig we create is of the highest quality. Each strand is carefully selected, treated, and crafted with love—because every child deserves to feel like themselves again.
